A client once told me at the end of the session that she had been incredibly nervous going into it. So nervous that she almost changed her mind when I showed up. But after a few minutes of chatting she felt comfortable and after a few minutes of shooting, she felt confident. I was, she told me, “completely disarming.” It was one of the nicest compliments I could have gotten because I know how intimidating boudoir sessions can be. But once you get past the initial nervousness, they are FUN! Even if you are doing it for a a fiance/spouse/significant other, it’s really all about you. Get your hair and makeup done, put on some sexy clothes and blast your favorite tunes. Have a glass of champagne. It shouldn’t be anything less than a celebration!
A few common questions.
Are the sessions in a studio? Sessions usually take place in a hotel room or your home – somewhere that is well decorated, free of clutter and full of great light. If you have another location in mind for a session, just let me know. Have an idea for a concept shoot? Pin up? Want to incorporate your significant other’s vintage car? Awesome! Let’s chat.
How long does a session last? A session typically lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. We can add more time if you need it. You should have your hair and makeup done before the session starts and we can take a break for a hair and makeup change.
How many outfits do I bring? Is it just lingerie? It’s best to have a variety of outfits and a lot of it is personal preference. Bras, panties, corsets, stockings, and t-shirts are a good place to start. Before your session we’ll chat about ideas and before we start I’ll be happy to help you decide. Whatever you do, don’t forget the high heels!
I’m not comfortable with the idea of nude photos. No problem! Many clients feel this way – at the beginning of the session anyway. A lot change their minds toward the end of the session but I leave that entirely up to you.
What happens after the session? 7-10 days after the session I will send you a link to a password protected gallery. You can use that gallery to order prints and canvases and to choose images for your album
